Welcome Home of Chattanooga has two AmeriCorps spots available for the Winter 2019.  Our mission is to provide shelter, healing and compassionate end of life care for those in need.  We provide a home for those who have a terminal illness and nowhere to go for end of life care.

Our AmeriCorps members are part of the backbone of Welcome Home.  They generally cover evenings (4p-8p), overnights (8p-8am) and weekends, working alongside other AmeriCorps members and volunteers to care for our residents.  Care includes personal care, helping with meals, emotional support, shooting pool and other activities.  We have a good and loving work environment. Training is provided.

Our AmeriCorps members serve an average of 22 hours a week for 22 weeks.  A living stipend of $3320 total is provided that is paid out every two weeks and you receive an educational award of $1527.28 when you complete your service.  This can be used to pay for tuition or to pay back student loans.

This position is excellent for not only students but those who are retired or needing a little extra supplemental income.  The work here can be rewarding.  Free food and friends also available!
